Kaitlyn Kirkhart Story
Hey family and friends! I want to introduce you to my new friend Snow White. (Or as I call her, Snow!) But first, here’s a little bit of a backstory for ya!
My friend Rebekah Yates told me about a ministry she served with called Reading Circle. She explained that volunteers are paired with a refugee student to read with them to help them become literate in English and share the love of Christ. At first, I was unsure, but little did I know that God had an awesome plan up his sleeve. After praying and thinking about it for a few months, I was ready to jump into what the Lord had planned!
Through this program, I was placed with Snow. She’s a quick-witted 10-year-old, who always keeps me on my toes. Y’all, she’s amazing!! She’s super bright and sometimes I can’t keep up with how fast she’s reading! She came to the states from Myanmar about 4 years ago and is killin’ it because of Reading Circle. I’m beyond proud of her.
I admire her curiosity the most. For example, we’ll be reading a book about Egypt when she stops and asks me if we can research a word a little bit more. While researching this word we are led to other words and pictures that bring up different conversations about her life and background.
I’ve only been serving at Reading Circle for a few months, but so far, I have found it to fill my heart! I’m calling out for you to please join me in prayer for Reading Circle- for the growth of the program and the students learning and that the love Jesus will be so evident.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”
