HISTORY
Our organization was founded in February of 2006 after Alysa Marx, our president, had spent the previous three years volunteering and serving the refugee population in the DFW area. She saw first hand a need to stand in the gap, and provide support to acculturate, empower, and educate refugee families adjusting to life in America.
In 2014, Refugee Resources collaborated with Free City International, in an effort to combine programs and resources. This collaboration led to the formation of SEEK the Peace, where Alysa served on staff as children's program director.
In the winter of 2017, Refugee Resources, Inc reinstated it’s non profit status with the goal of empowering refugees through literacy skills development. We work with volunteers to befriend refugee families in order to build relationships to share the joys, journeys and adventures of life in America. Our goal is to see families succeed in American life and to know and understand the love of Jesus.
